R U OK DAY 2019

Synergy Radiology Supports Mental health awareness.
Make sure you ask your loved ones, R U OK?

Suicide is the number one cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44,
with around eight people a day taking their own lives.

See below on how too help ask R U OK?

1. ASK R U OK?

  • Be relaxed, friendly and concerned in your approach.
  • Help them open up by asking questions like “How are you going?” or “What’s been happening?
  • Mention specific things that have made you concerned for them, like “You seem less chatty than usual.
    How are you going?”

    If they push back

  • If they don’t want to talk, don’t criticise them.
  • Tell them you’re still concerned about changes in their behaviour and you care about them.
  • Avoid a confrontation.
  • You could say: “Please call me if you ever want to chat” or “Is there someone else you’d rather talk to?”

Red Apple Day 2019

Our team at Synergy Radiology supports Red Apple Day – a highlight of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.  This year Red Apple Day is held on the 19th of June.

Australia has one of the world’s highest rates of bowel cancer; however it is a treatable disease if diagnosed early.

Red Apple Day effectively raises awareness for Australians to look after their bowel health and identify symptoms that could assist with early detection and treatment.

Mother’s Day Classic Fun Run

Supporting the fighters. Admiring the survivors. Honoring the taken.

Never giving up on finding a cure.

Our Synergy Radiology team participated in the Mother’s Day Classic Fun Run last Sunday at Parramatta Park, raising awareness and money for much-needed breast cancer research. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the event participating in the 7:30am 4km run.

It was fantastic to see a pink blanket of fellow runners including families, friends and survivors stand up to breast cancer and try to support those who have been impacted.

The event thus far has raised more than $36 million dollars to improve early detection, diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, with a target for $40 million dollars by 2020.

All donations and proceeds go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

If you would like to donate please visit: https://www.mothersdayclassic.com.au/donation

Both women and men should be continually checking their breasts and should seek medical advice if any changes occur.

If you require a mammogram and breast ultrasound please make a booking on https://synrad.com.au/ or alternatively give us a call at a site near you.
